协会简介
香港电影金像奖於一九八二开始举行，并於一九九三年十二月正式注册成为「香港电影金像奖协会有限公司」。金像奖董事局由十二个本港专业电影协会派员组成，包括电影双周刊，香港影业协会、香港电影导演会、香港戏院商会、香港专业电影摄影师学会、香港动作特技演员公会、香港电影编剧家协会、香港演艺人协会、香港电影美术学会、香港电影剪辑协会、香港电影制作行政人员协会及香港电影灯光协会。董事局每月召开常务会议，解决会内的决策性问题，至於跟进、执行工作和协会内外的行政及管理事务则交由金像奖秘书处负责处理。
此外，本会设立专责小组以负责不同的工作事项，每届由十个董事属会派员参与，力求以最公正的态度广集多方面的专业意见，令「香港电影金像奖」的结果更为公正及具代表性。
「香港电影金像奖协会」为一非牟利团体，只靠每年的电视台、电台广播版权费及海外发行收入来维持日常基本开支。
